10/25/18 Was the Big Award Night for Dr. Judy Brown

Big time congratulations to Judy on her big night in Hartford where she received UConn’s Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award at the undergraduate level. We are proud to have Judy as one of us. We all know how she offers so much of herself to her students and how she is tireless in her efforts building programs, including the Honors Advisor Core, in the department.

Cool New Class! AH 5720: 008 Microarray Cytogenetics

For the fall semester of 2018 the Department of Allied Health offered a one week long intensive module class on Microarray Cytogenetics, co-taught by Dr. Judy Brown and Agilent Technologies representatives Brigette Brown-Kipphut, MS and Dr. Jennifer Jones. Students had the opportunity to follow the Agilent Oligonucleotide Array-Based CGH for Genomic DNA Analysis protocol using samples previously analyzed by Illumina CytoSNP-850K v1.1 Infinium bead array. This course was a great way to for students to expand their knowledge of microarrays and how testing platforms are evaluated.
