Judith Brown

Judy Brown is a professor of genetics at the University of Connecticut. She received her Bachelor’s of Science from SUNY Oswego before moving on to UConn for her Master’s in Allied Health Science. Here she stayed for her PhD which she received in Genetics and Genomics. Before teaching and doing research at UConn she worked as a Cytogenetics Technologist for the SUNY Health Center.

Over the years she has accomplished a great deal of research with UConn, having numerous publications. Many of these publications are in cooperation with prominent genetics researchers. Even more numerous is the number of presentations Judith Brown has given. She has been an intimately involved and important member in her field throughout her career.

Brown has also spent many years advocating for and organizing outreach programs with the aim to raise awareness for issues of genetics. Through her memberships on several advisory boards, she expanded access to genetic data, services, and education on genetics at the state level. Her mentorship of students and alumni has been critical to the success of those entering the field of genetics from the University of Connecticut.
