Beth Malachowsky
Beth Malachowsky is a non‑traditional student who is excited to be joining the department. An EMT since 2004, she discovered a strong interest in expanding her understanding of science and medicine. She earned her Bachelor of Science from Central Connecticut State University at age 36 and went on to conduct research in neuroepigenetics and the biochemistry of rotavirus at Bates College.
Beth later transitioned into teaching, serving as an instructor in Anatomy & Physiology and Microbiology at the Maine College of Health Professions. Although she enjoyed working with students, she continued to seek deeper and broader knowledge in healthcare science.
Through the Health Care Genetics Professional Science Master’s program, Beth hopes to gain the skills and expertise needed to develop genetics and genomics curriculum for the next generation of the healthcare workforce.
