Have you completed the Graduate Certificate in Clinical Genetics and Genomics or the Certificate in Health Professions Education? If you’re looking to expand your learning or gain hands-on experience, the Health Care Genetics Master’s Program may be your next step.
We welcome applicants from related certificate programs and allow eligible credits to be applied toward the Professional Science Master’s (PSM) in Health Care Genetics.
Credit Transfer Overview
- Students may transfer up to 8 credits from previous graduate-level coursework toward the 33-credit PSM degree.
- A petition may be submitted to request a transfer of up to 9 credits.
- In accordance with University of Connecticut Graduate School guidelines, transfer credits must meet the following criteria:
- Completed at an accredited institution and at the graduate level
- Earned a grade of B (3.0) or higher (B- is not accepted)
- Support the academic goals of the Health Care Genetics degree
- Not previously applied toward another awarded degree
Approval Process
- Transfer credit is evaluated after admission and once the student has demonstrated the ability to succeed in UConn graduate coursework.
- The Program Director and the student’s academic advisor will review and approve requests.
- Students must submit a Transfer Credit Request Form alongside their official Plan of Study.
